About Jim Malinowski

Jim received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 1968 from Kettering University, (formerly General Motors Institute) in Flint Michigan. While at GMI, he was a member and officer of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and served on the Student Government Council. He received a Juris Doctor in 1973 from Michigan State University Law School (formerly Detroit College of Law).

Jim has maintained a solo practice since 1973, which is devoted to Asset Protection & Estate Planning, Probate, and Elder Law.

Jim has served several communities in the capacity of the Tax Board of Review Tribunal, as a member of the Economic Development Commission, and the Zoning Board of Appeals.  He is a member of various Chambers of Commerce and is the founder and Director of a men’s group of business, government and community leaders that meet monthly and donate funds to local charities. He has participated in volunteer community redevelopment efforts called Paint the Town, and Christmas in Action. He is a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus and has served his church in numerous capacities including chair of the Parish Council.

Jim is a consummate net-worker and participates in numerous local networking groups. He is a member of the Asset Protection Council and is a firm believer in the team concept working closely with Financial, Accounting, and Tax professionals.

Away from the office, Jim is a Master Gardener. He is also an avid fisherman and has participated in and won numerous fishing tournaments around the Great Lakes and was named Skipper of the Year in consecutive years. He also enjoys hunting and golf.
